Johannes Lyklema Early Career Award | 2026
Yoav Green
We are pleased to share that Yoav Green is the winner of the IES 2026 Johannes Lyklema Early Career Award in Electrokinetics.
Yoav's award citation reads: “For theoretical insights into electrokinetic ion transport in nanofluidic systems”.
Yoav will present the Lyklema lectures at the next ELKIN - International Symposium on Electrokinetics meeting in The Hague, Netherlands, June 23-25, 2026.
Congratulations, Yoav.
Brief bio: Yoav Green is currently an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, where his research focuses on electrokinetics and nanofluidics.
Yoav received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Technion (Israel Institute of Technology), where he received his initial training on electrokinetics and nanofluidics. Yoav also holds a M.Sc. in Physics from the Weizmann Institute of Science and a B.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering from the Technion.
Yoav’s postdoctoral studies at Harvard’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health focused on biomechanics.
Yoav currently heads the Fluid Mechanics Laboratory (FML), whose research focuses on the fundamental physics of ion transport through charged nanochannels and nanoporous materials with the end goal of reaching a deeper understanding of the fundamental physics.
Utilizing a multidisciplinary approach of theoretical modeling and numerical simulations, the lab has elucidated how the current-voltage response of nanofluidic systems varies with the electrolyte and material properties, including the salt concentration gradient.
